NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 29, 2013 - Colby-Sawyer sophomore
Sergio Spassof (Pallini, Greece) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Sergio won all four of his matches in the NAC East Division tournament on his way to being named Tournament MVP. He began with a 6-2, 6-1 win over the No. 4 player from Lyndon and added an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. In the title match, Sergio did not drop a game at No. 4 singles winning 6-0, 6-0 over a player from Thomas. Sergio picked up another 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles to help the Chargers win their second straight NAC East Division championship.
Spassof and the Chargers will travel to Latham, N.Y. on May 5 to play Rutgers-Camden of the NAC West Divsion for the right to play in the NCAA Tournament.
