NEW LONDON, N.H. - October 25, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's and women's cross country teams will compete in their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship this weekend held on the campus of Saint Joseph's of Maine.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, the championship will now take place on Sunday. The women's 5K race will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 2 p.m.
In a vote of the league's coaches for a pre-championship poll, the Colby-Sawyer women's team was selected to finish fourth out of 12. The Chargers earned 107 points, just 20 behind favorite Emmanuel, which also received seven first-place votes. On the men's side, Colby-Sawyer was picked third out of 11. The Chargers garnered 95 points, four points behind runner-up favorite Suffolk with 99 points and a first-place vote. Norwich was chosen as the favorite with 120 points and 10 first-place votes.
