NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 10, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer women's cross country team finished 35th out of 57 at Saturday's NCAA Regional hosted by Bowdoin College.
RESULTS
Colby-Sawyer recorded 1047 points to improve on both its place and point total from last year.
Five Chargers posted personal records on the 6k course.
The team was led by sophomore
Amanda Boyd (Dedham, Maine) and junior
Alison Fairbairn (Dover, N.H.) who finished simultaneously. Boyd crossed the finish line in 174th with a personal best time of 24:53.88, while Fairbairn placed 175th at 24:53.90 in a race that featured 407 runners.
Junior
Hannah Barrett (Topsfield, Mass.) was the third Charger to finish. She came away with a personal record time of 25:24.29 to finish 215th.
Junior
Megan Spainhower (Northwood, N.H.) was close behind Barrett in 222nd place. She covered the course in a personal best 25:32.
Also posting personal best times on Saturday were junior
Bryanna Parker (Winterport, Maine) and first-year
Hannah Giesing (Newbury, Vt.). Parker placed 270th in 26:34.66, while Giesing clocked in at 26:36.97 to place 272nd.
Senior
Alley Rogers (Alton, N.H.) finished in 325th at 27:48.57.
