LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – January 11, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer men's alpine ski team began the 2019 Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) season with slalom racing at Whiteface Mountain on a cold and blustery Friday.
The first carnival of the season was hosted by Saint Lawrence. Today was originally scheduled to be giant slalom, but due to the conditions the racers competed in slalom racing. The race occurred on Draper's Drop, on Little Whiteface, under cloudy skies and temperatures hovering around zero with wind-chills well into the negatives. The day began with 82 racers, but 17 did not finish the first run and nine were unable to finish the second. The Chargers finished in 9th place with 47 points.
