NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 15, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming team swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards.
Junior
Jinnae Jang (Fall River, Mass.) was named GNAC Women's Athlete of the Week, while first-year
Leilani Marlow (Kapolei, Hawaii) earned GNAC Women's Rookie of the Week.
In the season opener, a victory over Saint Joseph's (ME), Jang was a member of winning relay teams in the 200 medley (2:00.40) and 200 freestyle (1:49.43). She also came away with individual wins in the 100 freestyle, with the only sub-minute swim of 58.73, and the 50 breaststroke (35.12). In a tough loss to Keene State, Jang also captured an individual victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.38. She followed with a second place in the 100-yard butterfly, at 1:05.25.
In her collegiate debut, a win over Saint Joseph's (ME), Marlow took top honors in the 50 backstroke (29.61) and the 100 backstroke (1:05.48). In a loss to Keene State, Marlow won the 100 backstroke as she lowered her season best time to 1:05.08.
