NEW LONDON, N.H. – November 18, 2019 – Colby-Sawyer first-year runner
Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) earned the final Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week award of the season, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
O'Connell picked up three Rookie of the Week awards throughout the season and also added a Runner of the Week honor.
O'Connell set a 6K program record with a time of 22:45.48 to lead the Chargers at Saturday's NCAA Regional hosted by Bowdoin. She broke the previous record of 23:03.92 set by Kylee Parker '17 at the 2016 NCAA Regional held at Westfield State. In addition to the school record, O'Connell posted the program's best individual finish as she placed 50th out of 388 runners. O'Connell now owns both program records (5k + 6k).
