Lyndsay Ostler Steps Down to Take Position at Dartmouth

NEW LONDON, N.H. - November 22, 2019 - Colby-Sawyer Assistant Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator/SAAC Advisor and Cross Country/Track & Field Head Coach Lyndsay Ostler is stepping down to take a position at Dartmouth College.

Ostler will travel up I-89 to be the Assistant Athletic Director for Peak Performance/Academics for the Big Green.

"Colby-Sawyer is a very special place with hardworking, determined and caring student-athletes," said Ostler. "I have been lucky to not only work with the cross country and track and field teams, but to also witness the commitment of other student-athletes through my work with SAAC and as an administrator. I began coaching to give back to the sport and teach others, but I have found that the lessons the student-athletes have taught me over the last seven years have been so much more than I could have ever expected. I would like to thank Athletic Directors Bill Foti and George Martin for their belief in me and for allowing me to grow within the department. I am so grateful for my time as a Charger."

Ostler took over the reins of the cross country programs in the fall of 2012 and was then named track and field head coach in the summer of 2013. Under her direction, each program has continued to progress over the years to become very successful and well-respected in the region.

Ostler guided the women's cross country team to four-straight North Atlantic Conference (NAC) titles and earned NAC Coach of the Year honors in each of those seasons. This fall, Ostler's team hoisted the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) crown in just their second year in the league.

On the men's side, Ostler led the Chargers to two NAC and two GNAC championships in the past four years. Ostler was twice named NAC Coach of the Year and earned GNAC Coach of the Year distinction this season.

The track and field teams were just as successful under the tutelage of Ostler. She led the men's outdoor team to a GNAC title in 2019 and a pair of NAC championships in 2016 and 2017. She also guided the women's outdoor team to two NAC titles in 2016 and 2017. Ostler was named GNAC Men's Coach of the Year (2019), NAC Men's Coach of the Year (2016, 2017) and NAC Women's Coach of the Year (2016, 2017).

"I am very happy for Lyndsay," said Director of Athletics Bill Foti. "This a wonderful career opportunity for her. She has been a wonderful mentor to our cross country and track and field student-athletes and was an invaluable member of the leadership team in our Athletics Department. Dartmouth is getting a rising star in intercollegiate athletics."

"Lyndsay has been a championship coach and a championship person during her time at Colby-Sawyer," said Director of Athletics George Martin. "Her work here obviously impacted her student-athletes on the cross country and track and field teams, but her work with our SAAC group, and her role as SWA impacted all of our athletes and coaches. Lyndsay's time at Colby-Sawyer will be long remembered and applauded, and her impact will be felt for years to come. We wish her all the best as she continues her career at Dartmouth."
