BOSTON, Mass. - The Chargers  women's cross country program recorded their best finish in program history at regionals finishing 9th out of 33 teams at Franklin Park.

Rapid Recap: 

• First year Samantha Carus (Brownfield, Maine) finished in 38th place, which is the highest overall finish for an individual in program history at NCAA regionals. Carus clocked in at 24:31.9 for the 6K. 
• Following Carus was first-year Tessa Millette (Barrington, N.H.) who finished in 60th place with a time of 25:19.8. 
• First-year Heather Hanson (Marston Mills, Mass) was not too far behind placing 80th with a final mark of 25:59. 
• Junior captain Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) finished 88th at 26:24.7.
• Junior Emily Carrigan (Wenham, Mass.), First year Quinn Aldrich (New Ipswich, N.H.) and first year Grace Walsh (Marstons Mills, Mass.) rounded out the group finishing 127th, 133rd and 146th. 
•  Colby-Sawyer finished with a final score of 374, securing them 9th place finishing with a total time of 2:09:54.

Coaches Corner:

"The Women's team had an amazing race today. Samantha Carus stepped up big time for us and helped lead us to a 9th place finish which is the highest finish in program history! Sam placed 38th overall and is the highest placing individual at regionals in program history. Tessa, Heather, Shannon, Emily, Quinn, Grace all stepped up in big ways as well to help the team finish 9th! I can't say enough about these young women and how proud I am of them for everything they have given this team this season. It was truly one the best teams I have ever been around #frogs. Now we are just sitting back and crossing our fingers to see if Sam qualifies as an individual for nationals. Will know for sure tomorrow so stayed tuned!"
