Colby-Sawyer College Swimming and Diving named team captains for the upcoming 2021-22 winter season. Current juniors,
Maddie Craig (Salem, N.H.),
Kelsey Brown (Douglas, Mass.) and
Lauren Berry (Dracut, Mass.) will lead the Chargers in the pool next season.
Craig was a part of the team who came in fourth at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship two seasons ago. She was also on the squad the year prior when the Chargers came in sixth. Her biggest accomplishments in her Charger career include her times at the GNAC championship in the 200-yard and 50-yard breaststroke events.
Brown has made a name for herself in the Colby-Sawyer record book. She holds numerous school records in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly, as well as the 200-yard individual medley. Brown also holds the school record for the 400-yard individual medley after posting a time of 4:51.01 during New England's in the 2019 season.
Berry has been a key member of the swim team the second she stepped on campus. She swam great times in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events in the GNAC Championship when she was only a freshman. One of her best performances two seasons ago was a second-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay. Last season she smashed a number of personal records in the pool. Berry was named to the GNAC Academic All-Conference team in the 2019-2020 season.
