David Starin Selected as Next Head Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Coach

NEW LONDON, N.H. – On Tuesday afternoon, Colby-Sawyer College Athletic Director Mitch Capelle announced the new hiring of David Starin to be the next men's and women's volleyball coach at Colby-Sawyer.

"I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to the Colby-Sawyer hiring committee and athletic department for being selected to lead the Men's and Women's volleyball programs," said Starin. "The instant connection I felt with the campus, staff and athletes makes me very excited to embark on this journey. It is my commitment to provide the best possible experience for our past, present and future members of the Colby-Sawyer community. Where are we going? Forward! When are we going? Now!"

Starin comes to New London following a recent stint with Bedford High School, where he amassed a 41-3 record in his three-year tenure with the program. Starin also has extensive experience at the club level, serving as a head coach for Hard Rock Volleyball since 2014, where he has helped capture 27 NERVA / New England Region tournaments.

"We are excited to welcome David to our staff. His 'ALL IN' mindset and breath of experience stood out to us during the search process. His ability to identify and develop talent, as well as build meaningful relationships will be a tremendous asset to our volleyball programs."

Starin also has prior experience at the collegiate level, having previously served as an assistant coach at SUNY Plattsburgh in 2013-14 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2012-2013. He also previously served as head coach of the Londonderry High School boys and girls teams where he was named as the 2009 coach of the year.

An active member of the New Hampshire Volleyball Coaches Association, Starin received his bachelor's degree in marketing management in 2006 from Siena College and his master's degree in finance at Southern New Hampshire University in 2012.
