WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – Over one thousand NCAA DIII track and field athletes will descend on the Williams College campus this weekend to compete in the New England Track and Field Championships on the Ephs' Lee Family Track and inside the Weston Field Athletic Complex.
Thirty-two men's teams and thirty-one women's teams representing 52 colleges and universities will be competing this weekend. Each athlete will be out to improve upon a current time, height, or distance to win a New England title and qualify for the NCAA Championship Meet or improve upon a qualified effort previously established this season.
Competing individually for Colby-Sawyer is junior
Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.), first year
Samantha Carus (Brownfield, Maine), sophomore
Ashley Keleher (Mashpee, Mass.), junior
Omar Boone (Colorado City, Texas), and sophomore
Chase Adams (Brookline, N.H.).
O'Connell and Carus will be running the 10,000 meter. Keleher will be running in the 100 meter dash, while Boone will be in the high jump and Adams will participate in the 110 meter and 400 meter hurdles.
The New England Championship meet begins on Thursday at 5:00 PM and runs through Saturday. Friday's competition will begin at noon and Saturday's start time is 10:00 AM.
