NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer College field hockey team erupted for three second-half goals to shut out Dean College, 3-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Sally Shaw Veitch Track & Field.

Both programs battled through a scoreless opening half, with Colby-Sawyer generating five shots and five penalty corners while turning away the Bulldogs' lone attempt on frame.

The Chargers broke through just over two minutes into the third quarter. Sophomore Lily Goerlich (Amherst, N.H.) found Junior Brooke Farquhar (Gorham, Maine), who finished cleanly at the 32:23 mark to put Colby-Sawyer ahead 1-0.

Colby-Sawyer doubled its cushion less than three minutes later on a swift passing combination. Farquhar turned playmaker, setting up senior Abby Olden (Belchertown, Mass.) for a strike off a penalty corner at 35:45 to give the Chargers a 2-0 advantage heading into the final frame.

Sophomore Jillian Fredette (Weare, N.H.) put the contest out of reach midway through the fourth period, converting a feed from Olden at 54:10 to cap the 3-0 shutout.

Farquhar and Olden each recorded three-point afternoons with a goal and an assist apiece. Farquhar's tally marked her team-leading 14th goal of the campaign.

Fredette netted her second goal of the 2026 season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sophie Krauss (Essex, VT.) turned aside all seven shots on cage she faced—including four in the final period—to post her first shutout of the season and seventh overall win.

Colby-Sawyer held an 11-7 advantage in total shots and earned a 10-4 margin in penalty corners.

With the victory, the Chargers improve to 7-1 overall and have now recorded their best start in program history.
