Personal:
Smith was a four sport varsity letter winner in skiing, lacrosse, cross country and water polo. In his top sport, skiing, Smith was a four-time All-District, three-time All-Region, and a two-time All-State Honoree. He also won a MHSAA League Championship with his lacrosse team. For all of his athletic success, Smith was named the Iron Chieftain, which is awarded to the member of the graduating class who has earned the most varsity letters. Smith also was a member of the All-Area Academic Honor Roll.
