As a senior: Hayden had another banner year for Colby-Sawyer. He was twice named ECAC Runner of the Week and earned three NAC Runner of the Week awards. Hayden won the first two races of the season and added a third victory in the final regular season race. The second victory of the year, Hayden helped Colby-Sawyer win the Castleton Invitational. He finished third at the NAC Championship and helped the Chargers to finish as runners-up. Hayden graduates Colby-Sawyer as the 8k record holder with a time of 25:40.
As a junior: Hayden ran his way to a second straight Colby-Sawyer Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year title for his performance in 2013. He was an All-NAC First Team honoree for the third straight season and won the Thomas Terrier Invitational on September 14 in 17:01.90.
As a sophomore: Hayden had an outstanding second season for the Chargers. He was received the Charger Award for Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year. Hayden competed in eight races and finished outside the top-4 just twice, which included three victories. He set a school record in the 8k on October 14 at Western New England with a time of 25:40. He was named All-NAC First Team.
As a freshman: Hayden was named NAC Rookie of the Year after his 29:49.3 time at the NAC Championships. He was the top finishing rookie and finished the race in second place. Hayden also earned All-Conference First Team accolades for his finish.
At St. Johnsbury: Hayden was a two-time Vermont State Champion in the 3,000 meter. He also was a six-time New England qualifier and a member of the 2008 outdoor track state championship team.
Personal: Son of Gary and Wendy. Has a sister named Carrie and two brothers named Ken and Ben. Ben is a member of the Colby-Sawyer cross country team. Hayden, who also is a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams, is a Sport Management major.
