Summary

Biography

As a senior: Martin played in all 16 games for Colby-Sawyer to wrap up an impressive career as one of the top defenders in the NAC during her four years. She was highly responsible for a Chargers defense that allowed a league-low 14 overall goals (0.85 gaa) and only six goals (0.66 gaa) in conference play. She was an integral part of six shutouts in 2017. Martin garnered NAC All-Academic honors for the third year in a row.

As a junior: Martin was a staple once again in the Chargers' starting backline in all 20 matches in 2016. She earned All-NAC Second Team accolades for the second straight season after leading the Chargers to a 6-2-1 record in conference action. Martin helped the defense to record six clean sheets throughout the season, including a 1-0 victory at New England College in the NAC Championship. She earned one NAC Defensive Player of the Week award earlier in the season and recorded three goals, which includes the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Norwich in the season opener. Martin earned her second NAC All-Academic honor.

As a sophomore: Martin was named All-NAC Second Team after helping the Chargers to an 8-1 conference record. She sent the team to the championship match with the game-winning overtime goal against Maine Maritime in the semifinals and was named to the All-Tournament team. Martin, a NAC Defensive Player of the Week once during the season, ended the season with three goals including a pair of game-winners. She started in all 19 of the Chargers’ matches and was an instrumental part to the Colby-Sawyer defense that posted 11 clean sheets. She was named NAC All-Academic.

As a freshman: Martin made an immediate impact to the defense in all 23 games in 2013. She helped the team collect 17 shutouts and added her first collegiate goal at Lyndon on September 29.

At Amesbury: Emily earned four letters in soccer for the Indians. She helped her team to an undefeated season and a Cape-Ann championship in 2012. Emily also earned four letters in basketball and four letters in track. She was a student athletic leader.
