Summary

Biography

As a senior - Sawyer saw action in 118 sets and established herself as the emotional leader of the team. As the lone captain and senior, she led the team to a 20-win championship season in what was considered a rebuilding year. Sawyer posted a team high 925 assists including a career high 52 in a crucial midseason match up with Maine Maritime Academy. She finishes her career with 2037 assists and 5.61 assists per game, both ranking 5th all-time. For her stellar season, Sawyer was named to the NAC All-Conference Second team, the NAC All-Tournament Team and NAC Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of October 31.

As a junior - Sawyer moved to the setting position in her junior year and posted 1085 assists, which was only the sixth 1000+ assist season in Colby-Sawyer history. Her 8.75 assists per set was second in the TCCC. Sawyer continued to improve in all aspects of her game having career highs in digs with 220, blocks with 47 and aces with 60. For her efforts, Sawyer was named to the All-TCCC Second Team.

As a sophomore - Sawyer had a breakout sophomore season and saw action in 111 sets. She was fourth on the team in kills with 181, second on the team in assists with 27 and second on the team in aces with 40. She tallied 246 digs and 42 blocks. Sawyer was an all-around player and saw time at all three front row positions. She had a career high match versus MCLA where she recorded 15 kills on 20 attempts for a .650 hitting percentage.

As a freshman - Sawyer saw action in 10 sets. She had 16 kills and 3 blocks. She was primarily used as a right side hitter.

At Norfolk County Agricultural High School: Sawyer was named MVP of her volleyball team during her senior year and was also named Most Promising Player for volleyball and basketball. After her impressive senior year, Sawyer was elected an All-Star and received All-State Honors.

Personal: Daughter of Mark and Margaret Sawyer. Has two older brothers named Steven and Mike. Majoring in Sports Management.
